LABO.ART’s ‘moving bodies’ brings spring/summer 2027 to the streets of Milan

During Milan Fashion Week, LABO.ART stepped outside the traditional spaces dedicated to fashion with MOVING BODIES, a travelling performance that moved through the streets of Milan on September 25, bringing the brand’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection into the city’s urban landscape.

There was no runway. No stage. Instead, the new LABO.ART collection travelled through Milan.

Nine Artists Bring the Spring/Summer 2027 Collection to Life

Nine artists — including stilt walkers, jugglers and performers — wore the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, creating a sequence of colours, volumes and silhouettes in constant motion.

The event began at the brand’s Milan headquarters at 12 Via Maroncelli, before continuing through Viale Pasubio, Piazza XXV Aprile and Corso Garibaldi.

A Collection Defined by Movement

Each performer interpreted the collection through a different gesture, rhythm and language of movement. As the performers moved through the city, movement gave shape to the garments, altering their volumes and proportions, while the colours of the new collection became part of the surrounding urban landscape.

The performance transformed the relationship between the clothes and their environment, allowing the collection to continually change as the performers moved through the streets.

A Fashion Performance Without a Fixed Audience

MOVING BODIES had no predetermined viewing point. A large public audience was able to encounter the performance by chance, follow it for part of its journey, move through it or simply watch it pass by.

Rather than creating a conventional fashion-show setting, LABO.ART allowed the performance to unfold within the city, making the public part of an experience that could be encountered from different points and perspectives.

Ludovica Diligu’s Vision for LABO.ART

The project was conceived by Ludovica Diligu, Founder and Creative Director of LABO.ART, and grew out of her ongoing research into the relationship between garment, body, colour and space.

Through MOVING BODIES, that research moved beyond the conventional fashion setting and into the streets of Milan, where the Spring/Summer 2027 collection became part of the city itself.
